I love music since my earliest days and started to collect my own
records at the age of 5. I was 7 years old when my dad took me to a
STATUS QUO gig in Dusseldorf and after 5 seconds into their show I knew
that this was what I wanted to do. But I was already 13 when I got my
first guitar and it took years of practice before I joined my first
"serious" band "BIG JIM" that got signed to "WEA" at the same time.
This band was renamed "SWEEP" in 94 and two years later MARK SCHULMAN
(PINK) recorded a few songs with them playing the drums and also
producing the tracks.
WHO´S THAT GIRL started in early 98 as an acoustic duo and with
the experience of hundreds of live shows all across Europe they became
one of the hottest live act from Germany. They supported British Rock
legends STATUS QUO on 74 of their shows; more than any other band and
had the privilege to play such famous venues as Wembley Arena,
Hallenstadion Zurich or Grugahalle Essen. WTG also supported Acts like
TOMMY EMMANUEL, ALBERT LEE, THE HOOTERS, ADAM GREEN and many more.
Their debut CD "LITTLE GOODIES" was released in 2002, the second album
"AGAIN" in 04.
The new album which is simply titled „WHO´S THAT
GIRL“ is just out and available on iTunes. It features 13
original tracks and WTG appear with a full rock band for the first
time. Check it out and let me know what you think.
The prolific DEPHAZZ is a jazzy, club-oriented downtempo project
centered on Germany's Pit Baumgartner, a sample-minded producer who
surrounded himself with a shifting cast of guest musicians and
vocalists. Detunized Gravity (1997), Godsdog (1999), Death by Chocolate
(2001), Daily Lama (2002) and Natural Fake (2005) explored various
terrains of 21st century lounge music, with innumerable references to
the jazz and soul of the past. Baumgartner was also no stranger to
outside work; he remixed Ella Fitzgerald's "Wait 'til You See Him" for
the first Verve Remixed compilation. The "Natural Fake Tour 05/06" saw
me playing 62 shows in 16 countries. You can hear my playing on the
2007 DEPHAZZ album Days Of Twang. The tour we did to promote the album
took me to some great places all over the world again in 07/08.
Apart from that you can hear me on numerous recordings. I played on
LANCE
KELTNER´S (ex-ROD STEWART) "Last of the cowboy vampires" album
alongside ERIC JOHNSON and DAVID GRISSOM. It was produced by ANDY JOHNS
who´s famous for his work with LED ZEPPELIN, THE WHO etc. I
played 2 European tours
with Lance in 2000 and 2001. The latter also featured MARK YOUNGER
SMITH (ex BILLY IDOL) on guitar. In 2008 I also did some shows at the
Frankfurt Music Show with T.M. STEVENS and a bunch of other great
musicians. Included were jams with the fantastic GREG KOCH and MARCO
MENDOSA (WHITESNAKE/THINLIZZY).
In 2009 I crossed paths with STATUS QUO again when I appeared on a
couple of gigs with WOODEDZ which is JOHN EDWARDS´(Quo´s
bass player) side project. Great noisy fun that was...
2011 started great with the 2 "Wir beaten mehr" Shows with
XAVIER NAIDOO, JAN DELAY, JOY DENALANE and many others in January.
Check out some clips on YouTube.
As you read this I am touring Germany with "THE SILVERETTES"
So you see I like being busy. I hope you enjoy the stay on my website
and look forward to hearing from you.
Love
